Turns out I was a little less ready than I thought. Going to hit the gym today through Thursday and have my real initial weigh-in Saturday. I'm down but not out...I'll be back in a few days.

You should check out https://www.gympact.com/

You commit to working out so many days per week and earn money if you do (needs to be verifiable via runkeeper or their own app, etc). The money you earn is minimal, but if you miss a day, you have to pay $5+ which is the real incentive to not miss a day.

It scared me too, but it makes sure I log my food (though that part I think only integrates with myfitnesspal) and get my workouts in (even if it's just a 30 minute walk -- 30 min is the threshold to get credit for exercise each day -- it integrates with runkeeper, but also has a built-in activity tracker) because no way in hell am I going to lose $5 per day for being a slacker. I've made over $30 already. Not a ton, but making $1-3 per week for something I should be doing anyway is not a bad deal.

You can schedule a pact break or even adjust your pact on a weekly basis (as long as you do it by Sunday night as every pact starts on Monday). It really sucked while I was on my honeymoon because I forgot to schedule a break and I really didn't want to have to worry about logging my food, but I was plenty active and I'm glad I ended up having to do it after all and still had a great time.

Oh damn that's awesome that you've made that much! But I don't use MFK or RK - I use Runmeter, Daily Mile, and WW, so would it work for me?

Ah gotcha. It sounds pretty cool. If I can do it with my own tracker tools I will consider it!

It's understandable. I know weekends are super challenging for you, so to try and start during Easter? I think you've earned some slack, bb. For the next few days, just work on that mindset!

IDK if I can use Easter as an excuse since I didn't really celebrate aside from eating a bag of chocolate. And it wasn't even Easter chocolate, it was just dark chocolate. Bleh.

Thanks girl. I'm trying! I've been working out the past few days and am going to do C25K W2D3 tonight. ♥ Hope that helps keep the scale from hitting 15 at my meeting Saturday. I hope they let me start my stats over.

I know you're right. I don't know why that mindset is so hard for me. My initial reaction is just to beat myself up, and that is so wrong, I know. :[ Thanks girl. I will work on this the rest of this week.

I agree with Katy.

Did you not like your weight on Sat and that's why you're going to have a "real initial weigh-in" next Saturday? I think that is a co-out. Just own what the situation is right now and move forward from there.

Also, you know that the gym is not the issue (well not entirely and not THE main issue). Your food choices have WAY more to do with that number on the scale than any exercise you can possibly squeeze in between now and Thursday. I weigh myself daily because it helps me see patterns, and I find that my weight goes UP after workouts (sore muscles retain water).

Beside, if that number is larger when you start, it will just be that much more impressive when you reach your goal.

Honestly, what happened is I had friends in town, went to bed late, and didn't get up for my meeting. I didn't even weigh myself in at home. I think if I continue on how I've been doing this week I won't gain when I go in this Saturday, but still. That's two weeks I could've been losing.

Bleh I know, I know. I preach the "80% of weight loss is diet!" mantra but then stuff my face and get upset at myself. So dumb. It really makes no sense. And yes, I have the water-retention thing too, which is why I never work out on Friday nights, aka the night before weigh-in, lol.

You're right. You guys are so right, and so wonderful. Thank you.

I was worried about the Ceviche night b/c that was a big challenge for trying to start off on your best behavior! Just do your best the rest of this week and no more re-sets! From this point forward it's all down hill on the scale! :) You can do it!

It's hard. If it was easy no one would have weight problems. It sounds cliche, but it's so true. It's so easy to say "don't eat that treat, it's not the last treat you'll ever have!" Yet when it's right there and others are eating it, saying no is HARD. It's possible though and we can do it and we'll feel accomplished after!

No, you're right. I totally told my brother the same damn thing last week when I was talking to him about getting healthier lol, like those exact words.

It really is. But honestly, lately I've been indulging more by myself, which is crazy. Like if I eat when no one is watching it doesn't count. But my jeans do not agree lol.
