wedding: kiss close-up

Back to running, and some Thanksgiving thoughts.

So I already have the Christmas Pandora station going. It's sad. Every year I start earlier and earlier. In my defense, the weather has been unnaturally fall-like this past month or so - at least, for Orlando. It seriously usually doesn't get cool until after Thanksgiving, in my memory. So I'm stoked. It feels like the season, and I'm thankful. The high for Saturday is supposed to be 72, which will be perfect for our camping trip.

Last night I met with Kitzzy, her boyfriend Jason, George, and George's wife Doreen. Kitzzy, George, and I ran, and I surprised myself - kept about a 12:00/mile pace for two miles. We walked for a few minutes between miles 1 and 2, but I can't believe I was able to do that much after being sedentary for so long. Makes me optimistic about tonight's run. I'm scheduled to do 1.5 miles. I should be able to knock it won't be easy, but I'm determined. Ragnar is going to beat me to a pulp if I don't get my act together.

Kittzy was telling me about this similar race called the Florida Sunset to Sunrise Relay:

One of the items on my bucket list is to see the sun rise and set on either coast of Florida in the same day. I think this is backwards, but as long as it's within 24 hours, it counts. :p It's at the end of March. Might be a good race to plan to do to keep me from repeating last March's post-half laziness. Kitzzy was telling me it's a good idea to have another race lined up before you complete one, so you stay out of that rut. It's a good point. All my build-up to the Disney Princess Half earlier this year paired with my new relationship that started right afterward gave me lots and lots of excuses that I can't really lean on anymore. Anyway the race is about $80 per person, so we'll see. If anyone is interested in joining, let me know. I'm honestly not sure if I'll have the cash (registration isn't bad, but the vans and gas, etc. adds up), but it's something to think about anyway. I'll see how much I love Ragnar and go from there.

I'm trying to think of a Thanksgiving plan. I know I still have a few weeks, but I'd like to start thinking about it a little early. That weekend is Josh's birthday, too, so it's going to be very difficult for me to stay on track with all the events going on. I'm going with him to his parents' in Jacksonville Thanksgiving Day, and his mom cooks every year. I think I'm going to ask her ahead of time what she plans on making. Maybe I can make a salad, a WW side dish, and a WW pumpkin pie or something like that. I hope that would be OK. I by no means want to take over - I know from Josh that his mom loves cooking on Thanksgiving, and I definitely want to try everything she makes!

I have a short-term goal: to wear this dress, which I bought last Christmas and have worn once (at 125 lbs., and it looked amazing), to my company Christmas party on Dec. 10. I would not be comfortable wearing it right now at ALL, but if I'm diligent with my food and fitness, I'm confident I'll be able to rock it in five weeks.
