I ended up skipping my meeting last night because I wasn't having a great day, but I was diligent and faced my scale, which I know is 1.8 lbs. higher than the one at my meeting. I ended up gaining 3.2, which is a total gain of four pounds over the past two weeks. It sucks, but I am determined not to let it deter me. I still have 8.6 lbs. to lose, and that doesn't really give me a lot of room to sulk or be down on myself. All I can do is continue on. I am going to work my ass off this week. Josh and I ran this morning for 30 minutes (2.5 miles - more than I planned, yay) and it felt great. I hadn't run in about a week so I was a little apprehensive, but I felt like my body was saying, "FINALLY!" I guess I am still a runner. That's a nice feeling. We're going to be running every Tuesday and Thursday morning. I'm glad I have him to push me a little because I am NOT a morning person. It works out nicely because it's about to get too hot for me to run outside after work, and the temperature this morning was perfect.

Also, my gym location near my house randomly closed down, so that's a problem. I think it's just that location...the one downtown right across the street from my work seems to still be open. I'm pretty sure I'm going to cancel, though. It's such a ghetto gym anyway, and the apartment complex I'm about to move to has a mini gym. That plus my Jillian DVD and hand weights should be enough. If I find I need more of a push, I'll probably join LA Fitness. It will be right on the way home from work for me, the equipment/facility is so much nicer, they have a pool, the price is comparable to my old gym, etc. So we'll see.

I don't know if I mentioned this in an earlier entry, but I started coming around to eggs. Josh made some hard-boiled eggs this morning after our run and I ate one with salt and loved it. I have been disgusted by eggs since I was about nine years old, but a couple months ago I started using Egg Beaters scrambled in the microwave with Laughing Cow cheese wedges. Yum. It's great because I have an issue getting protein in (especially in the morning). I just made the switch over to egg whites, so I hope that sticks. They aren't as good as eggs with the yolk in, of course, but they are healthier and I can deal.

La Banderita 8-grain 95% fat-free tortilla - 2 PP
1/3 cup Publix brand Eggstirs (though Egg Beaters work the same) or egg whites - 1 PP
Laughing Cow cheese wedge - 1 PP
2/3 oz. avocado - 1 PP
tomatoes and spinach - 0 PP


I combine the eggs, cheese, spinach, and tomatoes in a bowl then nuke it in the microwave for 1:30-1:45, then stir it all together really well and spread it on the tortilla and stick the avocado on top. I love it because Laughing Cow makes a ton of different flavors of their cheese wedges, so it's always a little different for me every week. And SO filling. You can add in salsa, FF sour cream, etc. too. I have some fruit and coffee and my whole breakfast is 7 PP and keeps me full until lunchtime. Way healthier than a fast-food breakfast burrito!

I have some big challenges coming up this week. Friday night is a get-together/sleepover at Josh's with some friends, so I'll need to eat dinner beforehand and bring my own snacks. Saturday we're going kayaking so I'll eat a good breakfast and maybe bring a cooler with lunch in it. Sunday I'm moving, so I'll have to make sure I have healthy stuff on hand for breakfast and lunch while I'm feeding my helpers doughnuts and pizza or whatever. I want to lose these damn 4 lbs. I gained so much. It may take a couple weeks, but I'm determined to make it happen.
