Week 11, Day 1

Well. It has been a while, hasn't it? Let's just jump right in.

As if it isn't obvious from my lack of entries, I have not been as attentive to diet and exercise lately as I should be. I have been distracted...and while it has, for the most part, been a positive distraction, it is not an excuse. I have been neglecting keeping up with Weight Watchers (not counting points and eating basically whatever I want) and my half-marathon training. I am trying to remedy that starting today, though. I have a 30-minute run after work, and I will not let it rule me...I know it's going to be tough, but I am going to do my best to push through it. I have one more run before the 10K Sunday, and I know deep down I'm not really ready. But I'm going to try my best, even if I have to walk a portion of it.

I also decided to not hold myself to a "goal date". It quantifies the effort I put in and I don't want that, in the end. I think the important part is that reaching my goals and living a healthy lifestyle is important enough to me to put in real effort, and I'm working on getting back to that place.

I have a few challenges this week. Tomorrow is sushi with Melissa. I am determined to stick to a low-point roll (tuna or California) and a healthy side (probably broccoli). I may get a plain salad too, if I'm super hungry. We'll see. Friday I may have dinner out as well, but I don't really know the details of it yet so I will most likely have to use my best judgment and wing it to the best of my ability. INO for me to continue being lethargic about this. I decided to focus again, and that's that. Not writing down what I eat and skipping workouts? INO INO INO!

Not much else to really say. I can't really recap what I haven't actually done. ;-) So hopefully next post I'll have something substantial and awesome to share.
