Week 2, Day 6

So, weekend. In a nutshell...let me say that I will be lucky to maintain tomorrow, and there is absolutely nothing I can do to change what that scale will say except to stick to plan today and go to the gym. So that's what I'm going to do, and hope for the best. I made some good choices (deciding against going out for drinks Friday night, having only half a slice of cheesecake Saturday night, getting a healthy sub at Subway yesterday) and some not-so-great ones (having a free-for-all with challah Friday night, eating lots of Goldfish crackers and other BS last night, not going to the gym all weekend). But today is different, and all I can do is move forward with action instead of talking about doing it.

I went a little crazy with the coffee last week. Friday I had FOUR cups, so Saturday I had the worst headache imaginable. It was terrible...I was in bed until 3 p.m. Talk about a reality check. Ugh. So I have put a cap on my coffee intake - two cups a day, max. I bought some caffeine-free Chai tea to keep at work so I'll go ahead and drink that if I'm craving coffee after my two cups. I will most likely wean myself down to a cup a day, then just once in a while or a couple times a week. It has never really been an addiction of mine until fairly recently, so it's fine. Once in a while will be good enough.

Today after work/gym (going to aim for a 5K distance, since it's been five days since my last run, eep), I'm going to put together a more realistic half-marathon workout plan. Kitzzy and I are getting together after work tomorrow to finalize it. I am grateful to have runners reading my blog and willing to help me out! This is a really exciting prospect for me, and I am determined to make it a reality.

On a somewhat related note (since I pump their new album on the treadmill), you guys should check out this band I've been into lately, The Pretty Reckless. It is fronted by Taylor Momsen, who is a 17-year-old actress/musician (she is in "Gossip Girl" and was the little girl from the Jim Carrey Grinch movie, hah - I feel so old right now). She is provocative and extremely self-righteous, thinks she knows everything about how the world works, is trying to *~bring back rock 'n' roll~*, etc., but she is really talented, and the music is GREAT to run to.
