Week 1, Day 3

OK whew, I actually have stuff to write about after only one day since my last update, hah. Awesome.

Food Log: 09/02/2010Collapse )

I need to stop having those little BLTs when I'm making my lunch at night. They are going to add up. D:

You will also notice that I didn't exactly stick to my plan of giving up coffee. However, it is really my only sweet thing during the day. I really should cut back, though...or at least invest in buying some decaf. I love the taste, and would rather not have the extra caffeine. We shall see. It's not sabotaging me so far, so if it gets to that point, I will re-evaluate.

Also, as you can probably tell, it's time to fess up...I didn't do my strength training last night. :-/ I was having slight abdominal pains from...well, for the purpose of keeping this journal not disgusting, let's just call it ~*girl time*~...and I really could have gone, but I just didn't feel like it.

BUT...I did pick up a new book from Barnes & Noble. It's called Secrets of a Former Fat Girl. It's about this woman (who is about 50 years old now) who had been fat her whole life, and decided at age 25 (my age!) to change her life. Granted, I am not technically overweight, but the book is more about how she was able to consciously and deliberately replace her obsession with food with a love for her body and for fitness, getting down four sizes JUST by changing her activity habits (or lack thereof, really). She adopted an ideology called "It's Not an Option", or "INO", when the little voice in her head would tell her to quit. Then to lose the rest of the weight, she did Weight Watchers...got down to 117 pounds and a size 2! I don't think my hips will allow me to ever fit into a 2, lol, but otherwise this is a very relevant book for me - I read 1/3 of it last night. It's going to make a great read for the beach in Miami this weekend - I'm sure I'll be finished it in the next couple days.

Last night I picked up a few things from the grocery store that Danielle (danielleisms) suggested to me - some Boar's Head turkey and sandwich thins to make sandwiches, and some baby spinach and egg whites to try to make little egg sandwiches in the morning. We'll see how that goes...I am just starting to come around to eggs, so I dunno how I'll do with just the whites...I'll be sure to post an update on that, hah.

I'm a little bit apprehensive about this weekend. Weekends are tough to begin with, but in an unfamiliar area it's going to be that much tougher. I am going to pack some food before we leave so I'll at least have dinner covered for tonight, but I checked and I don't think the hotel room has a fridge. So I will have to do a little improvising. I know I'll be OK, but I don't want to get so exasperated I just say "screw it". I know I won't...not this time...but it's still intimidating. The hotel does have a fitness center though. And Ricky and I are making it a priority to run along the water at least one morning, so I know I'll be fine. Bud Select 55 will be my best friend when we go out.

Heading to the gym in about an hour to get 3.25 miles done. Woohoo! Definitely not skipping that workout.

A motivational photo, for fun. :pCollapse )

I probably won't be updating again until at least Monday, sooo wish me luck. ;x
