Story time.

So last night, I met my LJ friend (and now IRL friend!) Lizz (lizblizz) for dinner at Sweet Tomatoes. It was so great to finally meet her in person! We talked about work and health/fitness and family and our "children" (doggy for her, kitty for me), and life in general. It was awesome. And I ended up doing amazingly on PP - I used 10, which was my goal!

But there was a reason it was easy for me to stay on track. Lizz was running a little behind because the traffic on I4 was terrible, so I decided to stop by Old Navy just to try on some clothes. I went straight to the skinny jeans and peeked at the size 4s. Now, Old Navy jeans run a little big, so I thought what the hell. I grabbed a pair of 6s and a pair of 4s and went to the fitting room.

Guess which ones I ended up buying (and were on sale for $20, hells yeah!)?

The 6s were too big. The 4s fit me perfectly. I broke down a tiny bit in the fitting room and called my mom (who promptly told me to stop losing weight, but was supportive nonetheless). Granted, I know Old Navy runs big, but um...in high school, I was a 10/12 in Old Navy jeans. And I was only about 15 lbs. heavier than I am right now. I think running has done SO much for me. And once I drop my last 6-7 lbs...maybe I will be a ~normal size 4 in jeans which, with my hips, I wasn't even sure was possible, but is my goal anyway. Last time I wore 4 jeans, I was 12 years old. 12. And they weren't even a 4 - they were in girls' sizes or some crap, I'm not sure. The first junior's size I ever remember buying was a 5, in shorts, the summer before 7th grade. I did take a photo of me in the jeans but I don't want to post any full-body pics until goal. My "before and after" isn't that drastic, so I want to play it up as much as I can, haha. I promise I'll post it eventually even though some of you IRLers have seen it through text already because I was so juiced.

If you can't tell by my disjointed rambling, I'm over the effing moon about this. Clothing sizes are a big motivator for me, and I don't care if that's a little vain. I'm eating right, running my ass off, and I want to be thin and look good. I feel in my gut that I will be at goal #2 Monday, and this jeans thing is just icing on the cake. Following program has become such a natural thing for me now. I don't feel deprived, because when I pull on a size of clothing I have only dreamed about, or see a number on the scale I haven't seen since I was 13 years old, or feel my unathletic-for-my-entire-life ass cross the finish line at a race, or hear a department-store employee tell me I wear a size 32DD bra (still stuck on this, don't even hate! :p), it makes forgoing that second (FULL FAT, FULL SUGAR) cupcake worth it. It makes measuring out portions, drinking so much water I have to get up to pee twice over night, having sore toenails, facing my food fears (i.e. eggs), spending more money at the grocery store, deliberately writing down everything I eat, researching restaurant points, daydreaming about bikinis, etc. etc. all worth it. I know it sounds so cheesy, but seriously - it really, really is worth it.

My friend Laura (celestialcure) and I were talking over LJ today and we realized how different of people we are now after having followed the new plan for a while. We eat cheesecake, chocolate, etc. but it's crazy - we no longer have that, "Oh screw this week now" mindset. We enjoy it SO MUCH MORE because we eat the REAL stuff, and we do it smartly (in moderation, planning for it, measuring it, and loving every second). I had two chocolate bars last week in ONE DAY and didn't go over my PP that day. She did the same thing with cheesecake and chocolate. It's like we have figured out some deep secret of skinny people - if you eat like crap, you better enjoy it, and eat amazingly healthy the rest of the day (and most of the week, too). We pick and choose the things we really want and say screw the other junk. Such a common-sense mindset, but so much easier said than done when there are Starbucks and doughnut shops and fast-food places on every damn corner. The physical and mental results that start pouring in make it all crystal though. It's amazing. I feel so empowered, and a lot of that is because of you guys, so thank you. Even the people who don't have LJ and don't comment but whom I know read, thanks. ♥

God, I sound like an advertisement for WW (but what else is new?).

Anyway. Had my last run before my half marathon tonight. It was just 30 minutes (look at me saying JUST 30 MINUTES, I love that so much), and it was pretty easy. I think I'll be fine Sunday - just have to make sure I'm well rested and that I eat a good breakfast and am prepared with the right gear. The weather is supposed to be really nice - sunny/0% chance of rain with a high of 86, but I start running at 6:25 a.m. (D: !!!) so I'm sure the temperature will be OK at that time. It's going to be a lot of fun. I'm really, really excited.

Tomorrow night I'm doing some light core training after work to help with my endurance for the race, then going to Kitzzy's for dinner and board games. :o) She is making a zucchini pasta bake, which is 6 PP, and I'm going to make this sauteed broccoli with fresh garlic. Oh and she's making homemade ice cream, so I will have to have a little of that too. She and I share the sweets obsession. She will have to hide her Girl Scout cookies from me.

Saturday is Danielle's engagement party. Luckily she drew out a little game plan to follow to stay OP, so I am going to borrow it from her. I'm glad she is on WW too. Makes it really easy to stick to plan, and we can keep each other on track. I'm excited about the Sweet! red-velvet mini cupcakes though, I won't even lie. But I will have one red velvet and that will be enough!

Feeling very motivated, grateful, and happy right now with this journey and a lot of other things. Hope you guys are too!

Jen, reading this entry makes me want to cry. Like CRY cry. ACTUAL tears. I feel like we're WW soul sisters or something ridiculous like that, because we both struggled FOR SO LONG (haha, we've been friends for almost two years! -- and in your second comment to me, you were talking about wanting to be a size four, too!), and it's just like something CLICKED, and suddenly, we GET it now. IDEK how to describe it.

You SHOULD hang onto those prouds, of being a 32DD (SEXAH!), and wearing size four jeans, no matter what store they're from, having a plan for Danielle's engagement party, AND YOUR HALF MARATHON COMING UP ON SUNDAY! Lord KNOWS I have a proud or two or TWENTY for you! :')

Sending lots and lots of love your way; hope you have a FABULOUS day tomorrow! Love you lots, sweetie. ♥

Aw I feel that way about you too bb. ♥ And WOW throwback! Holy crap, I remember that day so clearly. Was it really that long ago!? Damn...I feel old! There is no way. That seems like yesterday. Aw the first mention of want power. Wow, it's been quite the journey for us. I was 10 lbs. heavier then. Very awesome. PAPER, SNOW, A GHOST! Yessss! Gah, Joey. ♥ Aw, we added each other! Aw, Jack! Aw at that whole thread. Memories. How did you find that!?

Thank you. I love you soooo much and am so proud of you too, you have no idea!

Yay for size 4 jeans!

It's a great feeling when a 30 minute run is easy. I've gotten to the point where 6 mile long run is short lol It's such a great feeling.

I'm looking forward to tonight! I'll need to swing by Publix on my way home to pick up the stuff for the ice cream, but I should be home by 6:30 ish. I'll text you when I get home.

Girl scout cookies are hidden, just don't look in my fridge ;)

Thanks. ♥

That's awesome that 6 is short for you! That is still long for me hahaha. Maybe one day it won't be, when I'm training for marathons. ;-)

Me too! Hey what all do you put in the ice cream? I want to figure out the PP beforehand if I can. I have the broccoli and garlic with me!

LOL great. xD I will stay away. Thanks, you rock.

Rock the heck on!
A victory that moves you is just the best thing...hell, I'd be wearing those jeans for PJs so I didn't have to take them off. ;-) You are creating the body you wanted, what's more powerful than that?

You will do fine in the race and yes, I'm setting an alarm so I can e-stalk your splits and engage in some runkeeper silliness. Worth knowing, physiologically speaking, your "money" sleep is two nights prior to the race. So get some good zzzzzs tonight and even if you spend Saturday night staring at the ceiling, you'll still rock the heck out of it.

I'm so inspired, moved and proud of you.

Yeah man! Thanks! Dude they make PAJAMA JEANS, have you seen this crap?

I'm kind of intrigued, I won't even lie.

Yay! ♥ I will be so excited to have you guys cheering me on. Sorry it's so damn early. You can always come along later. :o)

I am hanging with Kitzzy tonight but I'll probably peace out by 10 at the latest to get my sleep in, yeah. Hope I will be able to sleep tomorrow. I may be too excited. :p Want to get at least four hours, at the VERY least.

Thank you, George. You inspire me too!

Are you doing Runmeter for the race?

Hey lady, sorry I'm so late on my response! Thank you so much. Old Navy is the best. They run a little big but it's a nice ego boost! :o)

Yeah exactly. This past week or so I have needed to keep that in mind, lol. I will try to channel that this week.

I had King Cake Sunday!!! It was so good, omg. I opted to buy one without the cream-cheese filling. :p Wait, you're in Florida...Publix sells smaller-sized ones!
