Very short recap entry.

This entry is going to be very short because I'm strapped for time, but I wanted to give you guys a little update.

First off, my friend Danielle got married! Woo hoo!

(If you can't view that, I'm sorry...if you add me on Facebook, you should be able to! :p)

She and her husband (!!!) John are currently on a fabulous two-week honeymoon tour of London, Paris (SO JEALOUS), and Barcelona. The wedding was beautiful and I got emotional. I cry at everything. But it was such a great night, and I'm so happy for them. ♥

Food-wise, this weekend could have gone a lot worse than it did. Granted, I didn't count everything I ate at the wedding, but I didn't go crazy. I had a plate and a half of dinner, which consisted of Manchego-stuffed chicken, flank steak, mashed potatoes, grilled root vegetables, and bread. It was all really delicious. I also had three drinks (one beer, a vodka and Diet Coke, and a bloody mary - I chose lower-calorie drinks), one slice of cake, two macaroon cookies, and a white-chocolate mold on a stick that was shaped like the Empire State Building. Oh and some appetizers, i.e. a few crackers, tiny mozzarella balls, veggies in balsamic vinaigrette, etc. Kiiind of a lot of food, but I went in with 42 WAPP, so I think I did OK considering. Yesterday I went a little bit over, but not too bad. Fewer than 10 PP, I believe. And the scale is being fairly forgiving, so I know I can crank out a loss in these next couple days if I keep my eyes on the prize.

My friend Ricky brought me this delicious beast from Trader Joe's in Connecticut:

Within 24 hours, half the jar was gone. This is my life. But it's only 1 PP per tablespoon at least...yeah, not a good excuse, I know.

Today has been going very well so far though. I am making steak, whole-wheat pasta (or couscous...haven't decided yet), and Brussels sprouts for dinner for Josh and me. And I have been sticking to my workouts! Katlyn and I did a great circuit workout Friday (my triceps were sore yesterday, which is a win), and I ran four miles Saturday.

Upon Kitzzy, George, and Katy's forceful shoving and peer pressure encouragement, I joined DailyMile! Yay! Please add me if you haven't already. I'll be using it to track my workouts from now on so I can view my progress leading up to the marathon more easily. I am still tinkering around with it, but I'm excited to see results and all that.

At least you'd saved up all those points for the wedding and enjoyed yourself. And I hear you about jars of stuff! I can easily eat a half jar of peanut butter or more, particularly if it's chocolate peanut butter.

True. I didn't count at the wedding, really, but I don't think I did too awfully.

Good job on the 4 mile run! Want to come run with us this Saturday ;) Though I don't think we'll have a 5 mile option.

I'm getting super excited for this 12K for some reason!

Haha aw I might actually consider it if you had the 5-mile option! My friend is having a Seder Friday night though, for Passover, so it would depend on how long that went until.

Join us! I am starting at 7 am for a total of 8 miles, but we can easily break that up into a 5 miles + 3 miles loops if you want to come. Though you can easily handle at least 6 miles, specially since we'll be doing intervals and probably running a tad slower than you are used to. Let me know!

No problem. Yeah, text me in the morning so I know to expect you. We'll leave promptly at 7 am. You think you'd be up for 6 easy miles? Trust me, you have the endurance still. Your half wasn't that long ago :)

Wedding eating, meh. Celebrations are what make life worth it. As long as you stop celebrating when the event is over, you're golden.

I think you will like the weekly stats. I love using DailyMile to track shoe wear...I mean flattened foam is kinda obvious but tread wear is REALLY unreliable if you run on more than one kind of surface.

See I live for wedding food, lol. Unlimited eating and drinking for free? SIGN ME UP, hah. I'm working on the "stop making it an insert-one-day-event-here week", but it's tough to stop the downward spiral at times.

Yeah see I have no clue what those are lol, so I am hoping this app will help with that...help turn me from a fair-weather runner into a marathon machine!

Jen the marathon machine! I love it! Yeah, I think once you start seeing all that data you'll want to keep it up. I love seeing my numbers from week to week and month to month, but I live for data! Nom nom nom! lol

I tried to think of a synonym for runner that started with F to keep the alliterative trend but I failed, lol. I only thought about it for a second though. OMG FOOT-RACER. That counts! Hindsight...

Right there with you. There are so many great things about the numbers. It gives you confidence showing where you are strong and shows you exactly where you need to improve and it's a constant reminder of who you really are deep inside.

Today I was down a bit more actually, so I'm hoping that sticks! I had a very sodium-laden dinner (matzo-ball soup), so we'll see. I did run though!

Honestly, I think you did GREAT at the wedding. All that food and that's all you had? I mean, YES, it was probably higher than a typical day for you, but "regular people", i.e. people without weight issues, splurge like that during special events JUST how you ate -- a bit extra, but not gorging yourself on anything. And it was for ONE evening (as opposed to eating like that EVERY night, which, ahem, I may or may not be guilty of doing).

And kudos on the three drinks, too! It sounds like a success to me, overall, and I'm proud of you, bb.

Haha, well, as long as you're counting the pumpkin butter. How was the rest of your weekend, food-wise? Sounds like you're back on track, though, which is awesome! ♥ SO proud of you, and love you lots!

Thank you bb. ♥ I know I lost some weight this week, just not sure how much. We'll see what the scale says today. So that's good at least - makes me feel like I did SOMETHING right. :o)

Rest of the weekend was meh. Monday was better, yesterday was actually pretty great. But I had matzo ball soup for dinner, which is full of sodium, so I think I sabotaged my loss a bit today. Oops. We'll see. I stayed out of the pumpkin butter, so that's a win, right? :p

Hey, if Monday was awesome, then that's all that matters, regardless of the Sodium Monster. I've decided that IDGAF about sodium anymore. It feels like I either get to eat the foods I want and stay OP or deprive myself of what I want to appease the Sodium Gods. If this means I lose half a pound per week instead of one or two, then so be it. I'm still staying OP, still tracking religiously, and it's not like I'm going WAYYYY over. Usually it's just by a couple hundred at most, but more like 50.

Staying out of the pumpkin butter was a total win! Do you also like apple and almond butters, too? I should send you some! Wait...maybe I shouldn't. Unlike your coworkers, I don't want to knowingly sabotage you. ♥

Eh it was more like Tuesday was awesome - I got a good run in, too - but that'll probably show tomorrow, not today, I bet. Fail! Good for you for not beating yourself up about the sodium. In the long run, you are making your body better, and that is what matters.

Thanks! Yes on apple butter. I haven't had almond butter but I'm 99.999% sure I'd love it. Yeah probably don't send me any LOL but you're sweet to think of me. We have Whole Foods around here so if I ever have a hankering I'll hit it up!

Yeah, I'm done acting as the Sodium Police. I'll monitor the situation, but fuck trying to stay under 2500 mg.

Haha, I'll refrain. I don't want to tempt you. Knowing your coworkers, they'll give an almond butter cupcake tomorrow at work, anyways. ;P
